Stressed menopausal woman trying to work

Menopause is a natural life stage, yet many working women struggle with debilitating symptoms—so much so that 1 in 10 women leave their jobs because of the menopause. That’s a shocking statistic, and one that highlights a serious issue: the workplace isn’t doing enough to support women through this transition.

If you have successfully navigated a career through pregnancy, maternity leave, and the challenges of being a working mum, you may have have another hurdle to overcome - Menopause. It arrives—often unexpectedly disrupting your confidence, energy levels, and ability to function at work. Brain fog, exhaustion, anxiety, hot flushes, and sleepless nights can make daily tasks feel impossible. For some, the lack of support means they feel they have no choice but to step away from their careers. And many others cut back on their hours or do not pursue promotion opportunities.

Why Are Women Leaving Work due to Menopause?

Menopause symptoms are often misunderstood or dismissed in professional settings. Many women feel:

  • Embarrassed to discuss their symptoms at work

  • Unable to concentrate due to brain fog and fatigue

  • Physically unwell, battling migraines, joint pain, and insomnia

  • Overwhelmed by stress and anxiety, leading to a loss of confidence

  • Unsupported by managers and colleagues, with no accommodations in place

The result? Highly skilled, experienced women are walking away from jobs they love—not because they want to, but because they feel they have no other option.

You Don’t Have to Suffer

  • Visit your GP and find out about HRT - 45% of women surveyed by the Fawcett Society said that they had not talked to their GP.

  • Implement some of the lifestyle changes below

  • If HRT isn't for you or you would like support using holistic methods first then there is good news. There are natural, effective ways to manage menopause symptoms, allowing women not just to stay in work, but to thrive. If you’re struggling, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to just “push through.”

I help women rebalance their bodies and regain control using:

  • Kinesiology balancing to support hormone function

  • Tapping (EFT) to reduce stress and anxiety

  • Targeted supplements & lifestyle changes to boost energy, sleep, and focus.

With the right support, you can regain your confidence, feel like yourself again, and continue to excel in your career.

Lifestyle Changes You Can Implement Today

While professional support is invaluable, there are also simple, effective lifestyle changes you can start making right now to improve your symptoms:

  • Prioritise Sleep – Create a calming bedtime routine, reduce screen time before bed, (no phones in the bedroom) and try relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation.

  • Eat to Support Your Hormones – Reduce sugar and processed foods, increase protein and healthy fats.

  • Stay Hydrated – Dehydration can worsen symptoms like brain fog and fatigue, so aim for at least 2 litres of water per day.

  • Move Your Body – Regular movement, whether it’s yoga, walking, or strength training, can help balance hormones, improve mood and protect your bones.

  • Reduce Alcohol and Caffeine – Both can contribute to hot flushes, disrupted sleep, and increased anxiety.

  • Practice Stress Management – Tapping (EFT), mindfulness, and breathing exercises can make a huge difference in reducing stress and anxiety levels.
